1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how MyBuildPlanner (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit mybuildplanner.com (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

2. How the Service works

MyBuildPlanner does not require an account, and we do not ask you to register or provide personal information to use the planners. The dimensions and options you enter are processed in your browser and encoded in the page’s web address (URL) so you can bookmark or share a configuration. We do not store your project inputs on our servers.

3. Information we collect

Information you provide. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
Project inputs. The values you enter into a planner are handled in your browser and placed in the URL. They are not transmitted to or stored by us.
Automatically collected information. As with most websites, our hosting provider and the analytics and advertising services we use may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.
Cookies and similar technologies. We and our third-party partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies, as described below.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We may use them, and we allow trusted third parties (such as advertising and analytics providers) to use them, to operate and analyze the Service and to deliver and measure advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some features. For advertising cookies, see “Advertising” below for opt-out options.

to operate, maintain and improve the Service;
to understand how visitors use the Service and which planners are most useful;
to display and measure advertising;
to respond to your inquiries; and
to protect the security and integrity of the Service and to comply with legal obligations.

6. Advertising

We may display advertising served by Google, including through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and device identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google’s Ad Settings and the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page. 7. Affiliate links

The Service contains affiliate links to retailers including Amazon, The Home Depot, Lowe’s and Walmart, served directly or through affiliate networks such as Amazon Associates, Impact and CJ Affiliate. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or network may set cookies or record that the click came from our Service in order to attribute any resulting purchase. We may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. These third parties’ handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.

8. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

with service providers who host, operate, analyze or support the Service;
with advertising and analytics partners as described above;
to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process or a governmental request;
to enforce our Terms of Service or protect the rights, property or safety of MyBuildPlanner, our users or others; and
in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy.

9. Third-party services we use

Hosting and content delivery (for example, Cloudflare), which may process technical log data to deliver and secure the site.
Google AdSense for advertising.
Affiliate networks (Amazon Associates, Impact, CJ Affiliate) for affiliate-link attribution.

Each third party processes information under its own privacy policy.

10. Data retention

Because we do not maintain accounts, we do not retain your project inputs. Server and analytics logs are retained for a limited period consistent with operating and securing the Service, and email correspondence is retained as needed to respond to and document your inquiry.

11. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information processed through the Service. However, no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising activity may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising; you can opt out using the advertising controls described in the “Advertising” section. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

EEA and UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Where applicable, our legal bases for processing are your consent (for non-essential cookies and personalized advertising) and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability, and you may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

14. “Do Not Track”

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no industry-standard response to these signals, the Service does not currently respond to them. You can manage advertising cookies using the opt-out tools described above.

15. International visitors

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other countries, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.

16. Links to other websites

The Service links to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above. Your continued use of the Service after the changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
